What are AHAs?
AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) are acids extracted from lemons (citric acid), milk (lactic acid), bitter almonds (mandelic acid), sugar cane (glycolic acid) and apples (malic acid).
If used correctly in a face lotion, mask or moisturizer, these acids will help the skin to gently rid itself of dead cells. AHAs are exfoliants and represent an excellent alternative to grainy scrubs, which are often too aggressive for the skin.
When should products containing AHAs be used?
Anyone can use products containing AHAs, but the frequency of use will depend on skin sensitivity and the acid concentration of the product chosen. We recommend using an AHA exfoliating mask every week to rid the skin of dead cells and refine skin texture.
If you've suffered from acne or have small spots or scars on your face, then daily use of an AHA lotion or serum will help even out your complexion and combat hyperpigmentation.
