Qu'est-ce que le face mapping ?

What is face mapping?

Face mapping is a skin diagnosis method which consists of analyzing different areas of the face to identify the origin of certain skin problems such as acne, wrinkles, dryness or pigment spots for example. This technique has its origins in traditional Chinese medicine according to which the body is filled with meridians connected to each other and our organs.

Face mapping is based on a theory that each area of the face is linked to an internal organ or body system. For example, the appearance of acne on the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) may be linked to digestion problems or stress, while wrinkles around the eyes may indicate dehydration or excessive exposure to the sun.

By using face mapping, you may be able to better understand the origin of some of your problems. However, it is important to remember that this does not replace a consultation with a dermatologist!

What are the key areas?

Face mapping diagram

  1. The forehead area : this area is linked to the digestive system and the bladder. Skin problems such as acne on this area can indicate problems with digestion, stress or hormonal imbalances. While a topical application of the product won't solve the entire problem, it can still improve the inflammation. We therefore advise you to apply a purifying lotion after your double cleansing. You can then continue with the application of an anti-blemish serum ; turn to active ingredients like niacinamide, bakuchiol, lactic acid and zinc.

  2. Eyebrow area : This area is related to the liver and gallbladder. Skin problems on this area may indicate problems digesting fats or toxins in the body.

  3. Eye and temple area : This area is linked to the kidneys and adrenal glands. Skin problems around the eyes may indicate dehydration, lack of sleep, or excessive sun exposure. So look for moisturizing active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid , glycerin, aloe vera, etc. which will provide water to your skin.

  4. Nose area : this area is linked to the cardiovascular system and the respiratory system. Skin problems in this area may indicate poor blood circulation or exposure to pollution. We advise you to integrate massage accessories into your routine; this will boost your skin blood microcirculation and activate your lymphatic system.

  5. Upper cheek area : This area is linked to the lungs and sinuses. Skin problems in this area may indicate allergies, sinus infections, or excessive dairy consumption.

  6. Lower cheek, mouth and chin area : This area is linked to hormones, reproductive organs as well as the stomach. Skin problems in this area can indicate hormonal imbalances and digestion problems.
