La peau et l'été

Skin and summer

Often described as an “extreme” season, summer can sometimes put our skin to the test. With rising temperatures, the skin loses more water, sebum thins and pigment spots may appear. However, it is also the season that gives us a healthy glow by depositing a light tan on the skin, so let's decipher together what the effects of this season are. The objective? Give you our advice to adapt your routine during this season.

What are the effects of summer on the skin? What habits should you adopt?

With the arrival of sunny days we tend to expose ourselves more to look good. This is where you have to be careful since prolonged exposure to the sun can lead to sunburn, brown spots or even burns... Not to mention that the sun is unfortunately the primary cause of premature aging of the skin. It is therefore essential to protect yourself by regularly using a broad-spectrum sunscreen and avoiding the sun during the hottest hours of the day.

With high temperatures and exposure to the sun, the skin quickly dehydrates as it loses a lot of water throughout the day. This can manifest as dry, itchy skin and an increase in fine lines and wrinkles (lack of water causes the skin to mark much more quickly). We therefore recommend that you integrate ultra-hydrating ingredients into your routine (we'll tell you everything below!). Also remember to drink enough water throughout the day to maintain good hydration.

In summer, sebum thins because we tend to sweat more. However, this excessive sweating can clog the pores of the skin, leading to the appearance of pimples, acne and other skin problems. We therefore recommend that you do a double cleansing in the evening to remove all the impurities accumulated throughout the day (even more so when you have applied sunscreen all day).

Even if you are careful when exposing yourself, the sun can still cause excessive production of melanin, which can lead to hyperpigmentation of the skin, manifested by the appearance of brown spots or freckles. As said above, obviously the first thing to do is sun protection, but if spots appear, you need to look for anti-spot active ingredients or exfoliants that will give you new skin.

Our recommendation: the perfect summer routine

    The morning :

Step 1: A spray of thermal water or floral water to refresh the skin without necessarily cleansing it or attacking it in the morning,

Step 2: Our anti-thirst serum to both hydrate, maintain the right level of hydration and ensure the distribution of water in the skin. Enriched with acacia seeds, a biomimetic active ingredient, this ultra-light serum plumps the skin in one application.

Step 3: Our fluid cream with a few drops of the hydrating booster for a boost of hydration. The cream, formulated with a natural form of Vitamin C, provides anti-oxidant protection to the skin.

Step 4: Applying your sunscreen. And if you ever want an even lighter routine, you can definitely move on to this step directly after the serum. However, you are not guaranteed as much comfort throughout the day with the loss of water.

    The evening :

Step 1: A double cleansing is more than recommended with the cleansing oil and the cleansing jelly to remove all residues of sun filters, makeup, sebum, dust, etc...

Step 2: This is not a daily step but possibly weekly. If you feel that your skin is completely dehydrated or that you feel warm after exposure, we advise you to apply our hydrating mask . With its formula enriched with high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, it allows both to hydrate in depth but also to plump up the surface for a feeling of comfort. If you ever see spots appear, then we recommend chemical exfoliation with the new skin mask . Its patented active ingredient helps to illuminate the complexion while the vegetable oils repair the skin.

Step 3: Use the anti-thirst serum again to rehydrate the skin after the day.

Step 4: Our fluid cream again - if your skin is particularly dehydrated and you feel that it is tight, that your features are more marked then you can also add a few drops of the hydrating booster for a boost of hydration.

Step 5: A few drops of the night oil to seal in moisture and prevent water from evaporating from your skin at night. Its 14 vegetable oils will provide the skin with all the nutrients necessary for it to activate its restorative functions while you sleep.
