Often described as an "extreme" season, summer can sometimes put our skin to the test. With rising temperatures, the skin loses more water, sebum becomes more fluid and pigment spots can appear. However, it is also the season that gives us a healthy glow by depositing a light tan on the skin, so let's decipher together what the effects of this season are. The goal? To give you our advice on how to adapt your routine during this season.
What are the effects of summer on the skin? What habits should we adopt?
With the arrival of sunny days, we tend to expose ourselves more to look good. This is where we have to be careful since prolonged exposure to the sun can cause sunburn, brown spots and even burns... Not to mention that the sun is unfortunately the main cause of premature aging of the skin. It is therefore essential to protect yourself by regularly using a broad-spectrum sunscreen and avoiding the sun during the hottest hours of the day.
With high temperatures and sun exposure, the skin quickly becomes dehydrated because it loses a lot of water throughout the day. This can manifest itself in dry skin, itching and an increase in fine lines and wrinkles (when it lacks water, the skin marks much more quickly). We therefore recommend that you integrate ultra-hydrating ingredients into your routine (we tell you everything below!). Also remember to drink enough water throughout the day to maintain good hydration.
In summer, sebum becomes more fluid because we tend to sweat more. However, this excessive sweating can clog the pores of the skin, promoting the appearance of pimples, acne and other skin problems. We therefore recommend that you favor a double cleansing in the evening to properly eliminate all the impurities accumulated throughout the day (even more so when you have applied sunscreen all day).
Even if you are careful when you expose yourself, the sun can still cause excessive production of melanin, which can lead to hyperpigmentation of the skin, manifesting itself by the appearance of brown spots or freckles. As said above, obviously the first step to take is sun protection, but if spots ever appear, you should look for anti-spot active ingredients or exfoliants that will allow you to renew your skin.
To prevent this phenomenon, we advise you to use our Tan Boost Oil as a sun preparer. Thanks to its active ingredients, it prepares the skin for the sun and, above all, evenly distributes melanin production to prevent spots from appearing during exposure. It will give you a tanned complexion and prolong your tan.
Our recommendation: the perfect summer routine
The morning :
Step 1: A spray of thermal water or floral water to refresh the skin without necessarily cleaning or attacking it in the morning,
Step 2: Our thirst-quenching serum to hydrate, maintain the right level of hydration and ensure water distribution in the skin. Enriched with acacia seeds, a biomimetic active ingredient, this ultra-light serum plumps the skin in one application.
Step 3: Our fluid cream with a few drops of the hydrating booster for a boost of hydration. The cream, formulated with a natural form of Vitamin C, provides antioxidant protection to the skin.
Step 4: Applying your sunscreen. And if you ever want an even lighter routine, you can absolutely skip this step directly after the serum. However, we cannot guarantee you as much comfort throughout the day with the loss of water.
The evening :
Step 1: Double cleansing is more than recommended with the cleansing oil and the cleansing jelly to remove all residues of sun filters, makeup, sebum, dust, etc.
Step 2: This is not a daily step but possibly a weekly one. If you feel that your skin is completely dehydrated or that you have a feeling of warming after exposure, we advise you to apply our moisturizing mask . With its formula enriched with high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, it allows both to deeply hydrate but also to plump up the surface for a feeling of comfort. If you ever see spots appear, then we advise you to do a chemical exfoliation with the new skin mask . Its patented active ingredient helps to brighten the complexion while the vegetable oils repair the skin.
Step 3: Again the anti-thirst serum to rehydrate the skin after the day.
Step 4: Again our fluid cream - if your skin is particularly dehydrated and you feel that it is tight, that your features are more marked then you can also add a few drops of the hydrating booster for a boost of hydration.
Step 5: A few drops of Tan Boost Oil to seal in moisture and prevent water from evaporating from your skin at night. Enriched with Thalitan and Karanja, it cares for the skin after sun exposure and prolongs your tan.
