Why use a Gua Sha to massage your face?

The Gua Sha is a facial massage accessory that is highly prized by facial exercisers. Most often made from semi-precious stones such as quartz or jade, this small accessory is used to smooth features and relax the fifty muscles that make up the face.

Why use a Gua Sha?

Its organic shape enables it to target areas that other accessories struggle to reach, such as the jawline, brow bone and cheekbones. Used with a neutral oil or our Seasonly Night Oil, it's the ideal tool for learning facial gymnastics and massage techniques such as kobido.

How to choose your Gua Sha?

For lithotherapy experts, we recommend that you choose your Gua Sha according to your skin's needs. Rose quartz, for example, is renowned for its soothing properties, while a jade Gua Sha is ideal for relaxing facial features and taking advantage of the relaxing properties of the jade stone.

While each stone has its own benefits, it's also a good idea to take advantage of their heat-conducting properties. In fact, to enhance the decongesting effect of your massage, we recommend keeping your Gua Sha in the fridge, especially for massaging the eye area and the oval of the face.

How to use your Gua Sha?

On the face, Gua Sha is used flat against the skin. If the aim is to drain the face, use an upward-downward movement to circulate lymph from under the skin to the lymph nodes at the base of the neck. If you wish to use a Gua Sha to reshape and tighten the skin for an anti-ageing effect, then we recommend that you always use your Gua Sha from bottom to top to smooth the features.

If your goal is to get started with facial gyms, we recommend our 21-Day Challenge, a complete kit consisting of our best-selling Facial Night Oil, an Anti-Thirst Moisturizing Serum and a Rose Quartz Gua Sha. For every kit purchased, you'll receive exclusive access to our three-week training program to learn how to massage your face in just a few minutes a day.
