“Notox” is a new approach to anti-aging which offers non-invasive treatments to combat the signs of skin aging. Notox offers an innovative solution for visible results without resorting to injections or at least to act as prevention or maintenance if you decide to do them. We will decipher with you this new alternative and the assets to favor.
Where does this new approach come from?
The word Notox comes from the contraction of “No Botox”. The goal here is obviously not to demonize the use of botox, but rather to offer alternative solutions to use for prevention or maintenance. Notox is therefore based on the use of innovative topical products and specific techniques, such as massage for example, to reduce the signs of aging without resorting to more invasive techniques. These products are often enriched with natural and powerful ingredients, such as peptides, antioxidants or muscle relaxants aimed at stimulating collagen production, plumping the skin and reducing muscle contractions that cause wrinkles. For massage, it is thanks to the work on the muscles and the lymphatic system that we allow the skin to accelerate its regeneration and to contract less in order to smooth out wrinkles and fine lines.
What assets to look for?
Most injections are either botox injections directly into the muscle to stop their contractions or hyaluronic acid injections, for example, to fill and plump up fine lines and wrinkles. In topical application, it is therefore necessary to search for active ingredients that are capable of reproducing these actions. Therefore favor:
- Muscle relaxant active ingredients: Like botox, these active ingredients act by targeting the subcutaneous muscles, inducing muscle relaxation which helps to reduce expression lines and prevent the formation of new ones. Spilanthes, also known as Brède Mafane, for example, is a 100% natural active ingredient which has an anesthetic effect. This is why we chose it in the formula of our TensioLift Oil for its relaxing effect to reduce muscle tension. And it is thanks to the complementarity of the active ingredients that the formula can reach the muscles via cellular communication. In addition, with the massage program that we have developed as a complement, the active ingredients penetrate even deeper. There are also peptides like Argireline or natural extracts like Zanthalene capable of reproducing the action of botox.
- Plumping/filling active ingredients: it is not for nothing that we call the first fine lines dehydration lines (they are generally between 0.2 and 1mm deep, beyond that it is a wrinkle). In general, the first signs of skin aging are due to poor skin hydration and cell renewal that begins to slow down. So look for active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid (which is also found in injection form), polyglutamic acid or certain types of peptides which have the power to hydrate the superficial layers of the skin in order to make it more plumped up. The hydration provided “reinflates” the tissues and thus makes fine lines and faint wrinkles disappear.
- Antioxidant active ingredients: These active ingredients are not necessarily Notox alternatives but rather possibly alternatives to aesthetic peels. The aim of these active ingredients is to even out the complexion to eliminate spots and boost cell renewal. They complement Notox solutions in order to fight against oxidative stress and therefore the appearance of new wrinkles. Favor vitamin C, AHAs such as lactic acid, glycolic acid or PHAs - extremely gentle exfoliating active ingredients. A peeling mask 1 to 3 times a week or an exfoliating serum 2 to 3 times a week will help you have a more even complexion and less marked wrinkles.
Massage: a Notox alternative?
The first anti-aging prevention technique is massage. Thanks to the stimulation of the muscles and the lymphatic system, massage helps boost the production of collagen and elastin for plumper skin and smoothed wrinkles. For only a few minutes a day, massage is an extremely effective technique for prevention but also for maintenance. The skin is less marked, the complexion is even, the muscles are stretched and therefore atrophy less quickly, the features are redrawn day after day. If you don't know where to start, we have created a digital program to learn how to massage your face in just 21 days using gestures that are easy to integrate into your routine. Performing treatments regularly in our Skin Studios and Face Glow Bars also allows you to maintain these results by adding advice from expert facialists. In addition, you will have access to specialized techniques such as photobiomodulation, micropeeling or taping.
In summary, this alternative allows you to take care of your skin in a new way in order to treat and prevent the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
