Why is this so rare?
One of the major reasons for acne is the overproduction of sebum . However, skin is dry because it does not produce enough sebum. Do you see the problem? That’s good, us too.
It is therefore important to ensure that you have dry skin and not dehydrated skin, which can lead to breakouts. If your imperfections appear on an oily area like the T zone, you don't really have dry skin: your skin is simply dehydrated. Dehydration usually occurs when using harsh or unsuitable cleansers.
Acne and dry skin: what to do?
Once you are sure that your skin is not simply dehydrated, you can tackle the problem.
For the first step in your routine, you absolutely must stay away from harsh cleansers that risk drying out the skin. Our make-up removing oil and our cleansing jelly are both enriched with calendula flower, known for its soothing properties. This gently purifies your pores to avoid clogged pores, the main cause of acne.
For the second step of the routine, we favor light exfoliation which will dissolve dead skin, which often clogs pores. The purifying lotion has a light concentration of lactic acid for gentle exfoliation. Tea tree oil and geranium are antibacterial allies to prevent blemishes and soothe inflammation. And niacinamide is there to homogenize sebum production. A great ally!
In the third step , you can use a moisturizing serum such as anti-thirst serum (acacia seed extract) or go directly to the moisturizing cream. The crux of the matter is here: if the moisturizer is not suitable for your skin, poorly formulated or contains oils that your skin does not like, you run the risk of clogging the pores and accentuate acne. On the contrary, if you do not use any moisturizer, the skin continues to dry out and the healing of acne slows down drastically.
So you need to find THE right moisturizer for you. Our moisturizing cream is available in two textures, fluid or rich depending on your skin type. It is rich in vitamin B5 and acerola to moisturize, soothe and support the skin barrier.
So here are our tips for acne when you have dry skin. On the other hand, keep in mind that it will be an experiment before finding the products that your skin will appreciate.
