The benefits of vegetable oils

We have recently seen a certain interest in vegetable oils: alone or combined in a mixture of restorative oils, vegetable oils are carving out an important place in our beauty routines. If they are fantastic emollients for the skin, they also contain many active ingredients and vitamins which justify their use. So how do you know which vegetable oil is right for you? How to avoid comedogenic oils?

What is vegetable oil?

We can already differentiate two types of vegetable oils: essential oils and oils extracted from seeds, fruit or nut pulp . If we find these two types of oils in a day cream, it is for two different reasons. The essential oils will contribute to the sensory experience of the product, while the vegetable oils will thicken the cream and provide the skin with the necessary lipids .

Which vegetable oil for oily, acne-prone skin?

Contrary to what you might think, oily, acne-prone skin can benefit from the benefits of vegetable oils. The difficulty lies in the choice of vegetable oil . Pure coconut oil is, for example, comedogenic: it clogs pores and accentuates acne. If, on the other hand, it is properly formulated in a facial treatment, it reveals all its benefits: soothing, nourishing, gentle and effective for dissolving makeup for example. That's why it's in our makeup remover oil !

For vegetable oils to leave on the skin, we recommend two: squalene extracted from olives makes up ¼ of our natural sebum. Jojoba oil also has a composition almost similar to our sebum naturally produced by the skin. These two oils, due to their resemblance to our natural lipids, are easily absorbed and calm the production of sebum.

In fact, if we add oil to the skin, it reduces the production of natural sebum to compensate. This is the same principle that applies to hazelnut oil and its sebum-regulating action . Perfect to apply in the evening to control shine in the morning!

What are the different vegetable oils?

Nourishing, soothing, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial or even anti-aging, vegetable oils are rich in essential fatty acids and interesting active ingredients. Among the vegetable oils that we use, you will find, to give just a few examples:

- Avocado oil is rich in antioxidants, vitamin E, carotenoids, linoleic and oleic acid. Oleic acid is the most abundant omega 9 in our body, for its ability to soften and soften our skin. Thick, it is a perfect oil to protect and nourish your skin. You can find it in our eye contour cream , our night oil or our eye shadow .

- Apricot oil is rich in antioxidants, vitamin E and A and oleic acid. It is the perfect oil to give a boost of radiance to the skin. This is the key ingredient in our healthy glow cream !

- Squalene is a biomimetic oil extracted from olive: it naturally makes up ¼ of our sebum. It is therefore a perfect oil for oily skin or for damaged skin barriers . This oil is used in most of our products.

- Tea tree essential oil is present in our imperfections range : antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, it prevents pimples and reduces the intensity of acne .

Focus on night oil

A 100% natural botanical concentrate, night oil combines 14 plant extracts including numerous vegetable oils. It provides you with the essential fatty acids that your skin needs to regenerate at night.

The majority of jojoba oil nourishes the skin and is suitable for oily skin. The night oil contains avocado oil and oat kernel oil to soothe and repair the skin. To complete its restorative action, sea buckthorn and moringa oil have been added .

7 times out of stock, this best seller then targets cell renewal: hazelnut , camelina and flax oil soften and soften the skin. White fir and rosehip oil then provide tone to the skin.
